Police and Navy exchanges bullets in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.
Along IBB-Stadium Road, Calabar, Police and Navy involved in a serious gun duel. Two police officers sustained serious injuries and a police house was set on fire. A total of 7 lives lost so far in the war between Police and Navy in Calabar at around 9:11PM yesterday, 30th of May 2017.
The skirmishes between the Police and Navy has escalated as Navy Command ordered the armoury for more arms. Meanwhile the police has signed out all assault riffles to police officers. There was a gun battle between them. A reporter who called me from the front line sent in a raging building. He said that all police traffic stands have been destroyed.
As indicated by the source, a misconception occurred at a check point inverse the Navy barracks along Akim road in Calabar,
He said;
Trouble started after a police man halted a maritime officer at Akim police check point but allegedly refused to stop, leading to a shootout. The Navy officer activated later on at about 7:30PM yesterday, 30th of May 2017 and set the police station on fire.
