That is precisely what happened to Brian and Stephanie, who were coincidentally getting hitched on the same fairway where Obama was putting at. (The upbeat couple chose not to reveal their last name to press.)
On Sunday, Oct. 11, the two saw Obama greeting their wedding guests at Torrey Pines Golf Course near San Diego, Calif.
Stephanie did an “all-out sprint in heels and wedding dress,” Brian told ABC 2, to meet the prez himself. File this under things that are 100% worth getting blisters for.
“We literally ran down an aisle of friends to the president,” Brian continued.
Wedding photographers Jeff and Erin Youngren caught the whole thing on camera. They uploaded the priceless photos to their blog, where they also recount the big afternoon in vivid detail.
“Everyone in the crowd sat hushed in iPhone-ready silence as the golf carts came to a stop, and the presidential party started getting out to play,” they wrote. “Then President Obama raised his hand and greeted the crowd with a giant smile, breaking the silence. We all cheered.”
Obama was happy to pose with the couple and shake hands with the crowd. Naturally, everyone’s inner fangirl was freaking the eff out.
“He said congrats and good luck to Brian and me,” Stephanie said.
